Guess the Fed
Can you think like the Fed?
Ten hidden months from the Fed's history since 1983. You see what the Fed saw. Will it cut, hold or hike?
What does the Fed do this month?
How it works
Ten months are picked from the Fed's history since 1983, without their dates. For each one you see the latest figures before it: inflation, unemployment, the Fed's target and the 2-year Treasury yield, with their last two years. Will the Fed cut its target that month, hold it or raise it?
A month counts as a cut or a hike when the Fed's target at its end differs from the month before, including moves between meetings. Each game mixes cuts, holds and hikes. The figures are each month's own, as revised since, so they can differ a little from what the Fed saw at the time.
